A man and His Mission, Snake Shyam, Mysore India
A man and his mission to save nature in his own way, Snake Shyam of Mysore. Till date he has recorded nearly 18000 snake captures and setting them free in the forest enabling them a safer place to thrive. From Non-venomous Rat Snakes to deadly Vipers, He does it without fear and with a passion. His service started a while ago in this town when his neighbour freaked out on noticing a cobra in their house, Shyam intervened and carefully led the snake to a safer place, That day till now, He has dedicated his life for these amazingly creepy beings.
Snakes in India are found in a great diversity, the biggest being the python (size wise) and most respected being the Cobra, especially the King Cobra (other cobras like, spectacled, monocled, black, albino are found too). A bite could kill a person if untreated, and this is where Snake Shyam's service is so vital. He does the capturing and collection for free. The growing human population and the Snake population clash head on due to the loss of the snake's habitat.
Most people would almost instantly panic on seeing a snake and would try to get rid of it, due to fear of death. But out of the several 100 species found in India, only 4 snakes are considered to bite frequently. They are Cobra, Krait, Saw-scaled Viper and Russell's Viper and the venom of these snakes act on different body systems severely affecting the major organs like the brian and heart. Other venomous snakes exist too, but are mostly shy creatures, evading any kind of human activity.
